Last Game of The Season

This weekend my club volleyball team from Lewis had our last tournament of the Fall semester. It was our third tournament of the semester and we were at Purdue University in Indiana. We had to wake up at 4am on Saturday and drive down to make a 9am game to start the day off. My team did do the best on Saturday to start the tournament off out of the long ten hours of being in the gym and out of that only playing 4 games in that time span. Our record was 1-3 which put us 3rd in out pool which in turn put us in the D2 Silver pool. When Sunday came around we ended up having an 11am game with a lose and go home out come because off our performance the day before. The team and I didn't want our last tournament to end that early and were able to pull off the win in our first game to advance to the semifinals. We then learned it was a team that beat us the day before so we really wanted to beat them this time. In the first set we beat them pretty easily but then the tides turn. We dropped the next set to them and had to play a third game to 15. Our emotions and fatigue from and end up losing to them again. This lose hit my team pretty hard because some of our guys aren't going to be able to play next semester because of grad school or because they are graduating and that lose might be there last volleyball game. This made a lot of use notice how this sport can bring people from all ages together and that one day we might have to say goodbye to the sport that we have all been playing for years now.
